How To Clean Your Resistance Bands.

Updated: May 12

Almost every year we get the same questions about our resistance bands. A common theme is "How should I clean them, Condition them?" At this point we only recommend 1 product to spray on your bands to keep they looking like new.

Can you guess what it is? Armor All? Good guess, but no cigar. We thought that Armor All would be great too, however as soon as wipe some of the spray off of the bands, they look dull again.

We had to look elsewhere...

We were not having any luck finding a great product to condition the bands and make them look like new. So, we had an idea. Look for a spray that was recommended for another type of rubber: Tires!

So we went to the local car supply store and bought a few of the tire treatments. One of them stood out and was the clear winner:

The clear winner (no Pun Intended) was Black Magic Tire Wet Spray.

Best Way to apply the spray to your bands

To apply the product to your bands, hold or lay your bands down on a towel and spray the bands while they are on the towel. Now grip the bands between your thumb and forefinger and rub the product into the latex moving up and down the band.

When there is a light layer of the spray covering the the band let it sit on the band for 10 to 20 seconds, and then gently wipe it off. Keep in mind if you wipe the band too forcefully you will take all of the spray off. WARNING!! DO NOT LEAVE THE SPRAY ON THE BAND thinking that it will work better, you can damage the bands.
